Webinar – Improving Choices: Farmer Takeaways from the National Cover Crop Variety Project
Farmers for Soil Health (FSH) is an initiative led by the Soy Checkoff, Pork Checkoff, and National Corn Growers Association, which advances the use of soil health practices like cover crops to help improve farmer profitability. This video is part of the FSH education series supported by the Soil Health Institute (SHI) and the Center for Regenerative Agriculture (CRA) at the University of Missouri. In this webinar, Dr. Etienne Sutton shares key insights from the 2024–2025 National Cover Crop Variety Project (NCCVP), a USDA-funded effort evaluating cover crop performance across regions and growing conditions. Topics include practical takeaways from field trials, variety performance by region, and breeding advances aimed at improving traits such as establishment, winter hardiness, forage quality, and seed yield.
